What to think about when you decided to have your own house build and are looking for land sales.
Always inspect your land before you buy. Do not buy unless you have seen the property. When you are interested inform yourself about the land and the contractor. Contact HUD, the Better Business Bureau and he Office of your state Attorney General and make sure there are no complaints or investigations against your contractor/developer and that the contractor is register with HUD.
Always make sure that every promise by salespeople is in writing. Never accept verbal terms that are not in the contract. Do not fall for the line sign it now and I will change the contract with what we promised ere. Only sign when everything is read and clear and do not fall for tactics to place you under pressure fi during a visit or telephonecall.
Do not assume things. If something is not clearly stated (for instance amenities and utilities) in the salescontract make sure it will be.
Buying land for a new home is a great thing and if you use common sense and these tips nothing should go wrong.
